Victor van der Kwast, the chief executive of ABN Amro’s International Diamond and Jewelry Group (ID&JG), is stepping down from his position at the end of the month. He will continue at the bank as chief executive of ABN Amro Private Bank International for Belgium and Luxembourg and as its country executive for Belgium. Van der Kwast has held these positions since September 2011.
He will be replaced as the head of ID&JG by Erik Jens, who currently serves as chief executive of ABN Amro’s private banking division for Switzerland and the Swiss region. Jens previously held the position of chief executive of Fortis Prime Fund Solutions and will begin his new role on February 1.
